Good Laundry
Residents in North Flint often face "hygiene poverty," where they must choose between essentials like food and utilities or personal hygiene due to a lack of access to washers and dryers. Studies show that access to clean clothes enhances self-worth, dignity, and opportunities for employment, while also reducing children's absenteeism and protecting them from bullying. Recognizing the significant impact of clean clothes on a family's sense of agency, Good Laundry is being constructed to address this basic need, with plans to open in late 2024.

“People are actually having to choose between clean clothes and basic needs and that breaks my heart”
